Notice of Marriage Appointment

Please complete this form to book an appointment to give notice of marriage. This is not a booking for a ceremony. Please visit the Registrars page if you wish to book your ceremony in Islington.

Before booking your appointment please ensure that the following applies to you and your partner: 

  1. We plan to marry in England or Wales and have decided on the venue for our legal ceremony.
  2. We understand that notice can be given no more than 1 year ahead of the ceremony, and no less than 29 days before the ceremony.
  3. We understand that if one or both of us are non-EEA nationals our notice period may be extended by UKVI up to 71 days
  4. We are both over 18 years of age.
  5. We will have lived at our address(es) in England or Wales for at least 8 days before giving notice.
  6. Either:

    We are both British/EEA nationals and understand that we must each give notice in the district where we live. One or both of us lives in Islington and will book a single or joint appointment as appropriate.


    One or both of us are foreign nationals living in England or Wales. We understand that we must give notice together at a designated office.

  7. I/we will bring the required documents to the appointment, as instructed in the guidance. I/we understand that failure to do so will result in the appointment not proceeding.
  8. I/we will bring a third party interpreter  to the appointment if I/we do not speak English.
  9. I/we understand that the appointment booking fee of £35.00 per person is non-refundable.
